There’s the guest list. The budget. The travel arrangements. The coordination of every last person involved in the event. Wacky second cousin Jimmy (I told him he could come).

Now, I have no doubt we can pull this thing off beautifully. Almost 4 years ago I threw together a big, pull-out-all-the-stops fabulous wedding (if I do say so myself) – with 175 guests – in only 5 months. (No, not a shotgun wedding.)

And just like my wedding 4 years ago, this Big Fat Hot Blogger Calendar Wedding will be filled with fun people and crazy stories.

Maybe we’ll even bring a priest in for good measure?

Clearly, there was a need for hot blogging to be recognized. We respect you for answering that need, and we are honored to be the vessel by which you do that.

Actually, that’s a lie. We’re terrified by the rabid ferocity of your Hot Blogger enthusiasm, and we constantly ask each other what on earth we’ve gotten ourselves into.

But hey, it’s too late now, right? So. Onward and upward!

The week of voting commences at midnight and goes until midnight on Sunday, Aug. 31. At this point, no new nominations will be accepted. Each voter gets one male blogger vote and one female blogger vote in the voting period. C’est tout. So make ‘em good, people.

As ever, if anyone you know should be blogging or podcasting or talking or writing about this: tell them. If you or anyone you know is interested in, as they used to say on the game shows, promotional consideration – everything from car service to flights to hotels to shoot space to lighting to props to drinks to food to clothes to jewelry to hair – if it can help make the Hot Blogger Calendar better, and recognition would be a useful benefit: tell us!

(Especially: if we can find a FlipTV camera, we can begin adding video posts to document the insanity process.)

We’ve promised not to tell who… but we’ve had lots of bloggers nominating themselves. And that’s cool because if you don’t love yourself, who’s gonna love ya baby?

And of course there are nominations coming in from all of y’all’s rabid fans. Wow, people LOVE their favorite bloggers. (It’s a little scary.)

But the best part is that you all seem to be as excited about this whole thing as we are. Between all of the blog posts about the calendar (so many that I have to continue this sentence just to fit them all in – phew!), the Hot Blogger Calendar buttons popping up, the tweets about the contest, etc., we have all collectively created some incredible buzz. Go us (and thank you!).

A few people have asked if there is really going to be a calendar. The answer is YES! With a real shoot party – photographers, make-up artists, stylists, DJ and everything. (Don’t worry, if you absolutely can’t make the shoot in New York City, we’ll have a plan for you to get your hot photo to us).

A lot of people have asked how they can help. We’ll definitely need volunteers for the shoot party, as well as donations for goody bags.

We’d also LOVE sponsors for flights, hotels, food, drinks, car service, clothes, etc.

Remember, we’re taking nominations up until August 25th, at which time we’ll narrow down the field based on the number of nominations for each blogger. And then the voting begins!
